Author's Comments: Suzaku's POV

Sleeping Angel

By Braided Baka Girl

How different you are at night. When you are asleep, the masks you hold disappear, and show the truth that is behind them. You look so innocent, laying there in my arms, that even I, who have see through your masks, find it hard to believe that you are the same person you are during the day. Gone is all that energy you seem to have, and if I told the others what you are really like, they would probably stare at me and believe that I had hit my head against the wall too much. They do not believe in you, but I don't mind, because that means that I am the only one who can hold you like this, my sleeping angel.

Truly, you are an angel sent down from heaven to help us. But even angels can feel pain. I have lost count of the number of times you've fallen asleep in my arms after shedding the tears that you refuse to shed in the day. Tears that should not come from your eyes, my child of the flame.

I will always love you, my flame-haired angel. I will always be here by your side, even though you cannot see me. I will be here by your side to pick up the pieces of your heart every time they break when you watch the one you love chase another. Someday, I will be able to hold you and cherish you as much as you deserve to be, my angel.

But until then, my love, live the life you have to the fullest, and know that you hold the key to my heart wherever you go. Do not be afraid, and never regret the decisions you have made, because it is your fiery spirit that I love. Your friends look at you, but they don't see the caring personality that you hide behind the mask you wear. Their loss, because you are the most beautiful person I have ever seen, both mortal and divine.

I must go now, my sleeping angel. One day, we will be together again, and you will remember. But until that day, I am happy just to watch you, and to hold you in my arms at night. Farewell, my love, and may sweet angels visit you in your slumber.

Farewell, my Tasuki, child of the flame, the sleeping angel, and my soul mate. I will wait until the day you spread your wings and fly with me once more.

A familiar presence enters the room. I do not need to turn my head to see who it is.

"It is time to go now."

"I know."

"Is that him?"

"I thought so."

"Brother, when will they remember?"

"I don't know."

"Why did we have to be separated from our loved ones?"

"Who understands what goes through Her head."

"I miss him."

"Idiot, you haven't even left the room yet."

"I know."

"I understand. I feel the some way about my draglet. But we have to go now."

"I know Seiryuu."

"Come on, Suzaku."

Goodnight, my Sleeping Angel.
